Ben Legg discusses Facebook advertising on “Bloomberg West.”

SAN FRANCISCO — June 20, 2013 — Adknowledge CEO Ben Legg was a guest yesterday on Bloomberg TV’s Bloomberg West, a daily news show focused on technology and innovation. In an interview recorded May 30 with correspondent Jon Erlichman at Bloomberg’s studios in San Francisco, Legg discussed Facebook advertising, strategy and the social network’s evolving marketing tools. “Everyone is much more sensitive than they ever were with TV about what’s the right frequency of (ads), how to make (ads) as close as possible to entertainment, as opposed to boring,” Legg said on the program.

Legg and Erlichman also discussed the ability to use Facebook advertising much more surgically than other media, given the volume of information and interests Facebook user reveal. “If you’re a car company pushing out TV ads, 90 percent of the people who watch your ad either can’t afford your car or are not planning to buy a car,” Legg said. “On something like Facebook, you can target people who are the right demographic, and potentially even target people who need a car. So ads will be better targeted.”
